This Children’s Day Bring out the Child in You with These Fun Recipes for Iced Teas!
Tea is often considered a serious beverage, fit for formal settings and drunk only by tied grownups. This children’s day, we thought of having a little fun with the best flavoured teas to awaken the child in us. We used some of our flavoured teas from the Wellness Collection of Mayukh to prepare a fun lemon iced tea recipe. Read on to learn how to make the best iced tea at home:
Get steeping with the following:
- Your favourite loose leaf flavoured tea: We used Hibsicus Lavender Green Tea by Mayukh for ours
- 200 Ml of water: Spring water is preferably the best water for teas
- A tablespoon of granulated sugar or honey
- 3-4 Ice cubes
- A lemon wedge
- Some sprigs of mint
Here’s what you have to do for that perfect cup homemade iced tea:
Take 1 cup of water (200 ml) and boil it to 80-85°C
Take it off the heat and put 1 teaspoon (2.5g) of loose leaf flavoured tea leaves into the water. ( Some of the best iced tea brands use special long-leaf tea leaves instead of iced tea bags)
Steep the leaves for 3-4 minutes
Pour into a tall glass full of ice cubes
Add to it a drop of honey or a teaspoon of granulated sugar, along with a squeeze of lemon and a few sprigs of mint
Crush the mixture with a spoon and mix it vigorously
Add the cold brewed tea to the chilled mixture
Top off with a lemon wedge and more mint and enjoy!
