Darjeeling first flush 2023 - Updates & Offers

Yet another spring season is upon us here in Darjeeling. As the hillsides blush with fresh rhododendron and magnolia blooms, we were all eagerly awaiting for an abundant first flush 2023. As the tea gardens sprout out with newness and the fresh batches of Darjeeling first flush tea slowly get ready, we couldn’t be more excited. 

In 2023 there was only sparse snowfall in the upper ridges of the Himalayas here. Unlike the first flush 2022, this year's bushes witnessed a relatively drier winter this time around. Hopefully, as spring chimes in, the showers have been pouring in and making sure our tea bushes start flushing with tender two leaves and a bud.

Average Rainfall Trends

According to the Weather and Climate report, December was the driest month with around 5 mm of precipitation. Kurseong and Mirik Valley received a good amount of rainfall and have started with a good production of first flush tea.

The Darjeeling East and West Valley had remained relatively dry through February and the beginning of March. Though, the latter half of March has been witnessing rainfall and hail.  With the gradual onset of Kalbaisakhi or Norwesters, the first flush tea is here to lilt your senses.
